Setup Prerequisites

Kyubit Business Intelligence is standalone OLAP web application designed for Microsoft OLAP and Business Intelligence environment. It relies on Microsoft software infrastructure and technologies which make prerequisites to install and work with Kyubit Business Intelligence software.

OLAP software Server side prerequisites

To install Kyubit BI, user needs Administrator privilege on the machine (server) and following server side components needs to be available prior to setup procedure.

  • Windows 7/8/10 or Windows Server 2003/2008/2012
  • .NET Framework 3.5 SP1
  • ASP.NET 3.5
  • MS SQL Server 2005/2008/2012/2014
    (for Kyubit Business Intelligence internal database available on the network. Any edition could be used.)
  • MS Charts (available in Kyubit Business Intelligence installation)

OLAP software Activate IIS and ASP.NET Windows features

If IIS and ASP.NET Windows features are not active, use following instructions to quickly activate features and continue with setup...

WINDOWS SERVER

  • Click Start -> All Programs -> Administrative Tools -> Server Manager.
  • In the Server Manager window, scroll down to Roles Summary, and then click Add Roles.
  • Select Web Server (IIS) on the Select Server Roles page.
  • Select Server Roles -> 'Application Development' -> 'ASP.NET 3.5


WINDOWS 7/8/10

  • To open the Windows Features dialog box, click Start, and then click Control Panel.
  • In the Control Panel, click Programs.
  • Click Turn Windows features on or off.
  • Select 'Internet Information Services' feature.
  • Expand and select 'World wide web services' -> 'Application Development' -> 'ASP.NET 3.5'
